Happy Thanksgiving from the Moose. Strong inversions are occuring around town today with temps in the single digits below zero this morning.
We are scheduled to be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but forecast is for cold and colder so we will have to see how it goes. Our cold limit is 20 below at the base if we have inversions above. We like to see a minimum average of 10 below from top to bottom for safety.
We have plenty of snow on most of the mountain, but the lower elevations are thinner. The mountain has been groomed wall to wall and we are hoping for more snow as forecast this afternoon and evening.
Please check back here in the morning, or at our website at shredthemoose.com for confirmation that we are open. If you would like to use the lodge, just bring your vaccination card or a photo copy and mask and you’ll be welcome inside. Thanks for your understanding.
Skiing hours will be from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Upper gate will close to self shuttle at 2:45. Only self shuttle pass holders will be allowed to drive to the summit.
Due to some serious canine altercations last season, dogs will not be allowed on the slopes this winter.
