- Friday February 1. It’s very cold in Fairbanks this morning, but warmer on the Moose. At 5:30 a.m. it’s 25 below in town and 13 below at the base lodge, with 7 below at mid mountain. Although the “solar factor” is now about 10 degrees of warming by mid afternoon, it’s just too little too late.
Our experience is that few will venture out on a weekday after such a balmy weekend previously. We will remain closed today, and hope for a bit more inversion by tomorrow.
On the plus side, we received another inch of snow this week, and shredding will be good when we re-open, hopefully tomorrow, Saturday.
