Friday, November 23. Moose finally has enough snow to open. Last night’s dump put us over the 20″ mark we like to see, with 21.25″ total snowfall, 1.52″ water content.

The forecast did not predict accumulation, so we don’t have ski patrol or busses scheduled for today. We have contacted those elements and are planning to begin our unique bus service to the top of Moose Mountain tomorrow, Saturday. In the meanwhile, we will be at the lodge this afternoon until about 4 p.m. for those who still need to pick up or purchase season passes and avoid the first day lines.

All runs have been packed, and this layer of freshies will be nicely skiable for experienced skiers and boarders. We expect there will still be thin spots and semi-organic conditions.

Beginners should probably wait until next week after we have regroomed the skied out pistes, and our beginner “Bear Cub” rope tow will be operating.
