Sunday, Nov 15, 2020 Light snow and temps in the teens, clearing this afternoon.
Moose Mountain re-opens today for skinning and hiking to pre-paid passholders only. It appears this restriction may remain in place through the next “lockdown” as hundreds of Alaskans become infected with Covid 19 daily in our state.
The response by skinners and hikers has been large, and we are presently awaiting additional supplies to continue printing the passes. Most of the passes purchased by Friday afternoon are printed, and may be picked up on the deck of the lodge. If you haven’t purchased your pass, you can do it now from this website. Once we receive email confirmation, you’ll be good to go.
The powder so far is lasting as if it’s early morning on a bus day, with only a few dozen climbing the mountain per day. It’s a quiet, different scene from previous opening days for sure.
You will be required to wear masks in the parking and base area and remain distanced. When climbing or skiiing you may take it off and remain well apart from others.
The climbing routes are on the edge of Sundance and Alpenglow. Downhill traffic must avoid climbers.
We will be open today from 10 a.m. until 3. Please plan to be down and out of the parking lot by 3:30.
We have received 38″ of snow in the past few weeks and skiing will be…well…amazing! We’ll see you soon!
