Thursday…as the temps creep upwards, especially in the hills, we can see that we will most likely be able to open Friday-Sunday for self shuttle/carpooling (nice and warm) and skinning/hiking (even warmer) each day from 10-3:15 with upper gate closing at 3.
We have resumed grooming over last week’s “snowpocalypse” and are starting to see good results, with many many acres of untracked powder remaining out there. We’ll continue to groom several runs each day through the weekend, which is predicted to get warmer every day. Yesterday morning there was 38 degrees of inversion between the Fairbanks and the reporting station at Cleary Summit. During a warming trend, it always starts first in the hills, so bring it on.
Moose Mountain is not operating rentals or the beginner tow yet and recommend shredding for experienced intermediate/advanced only. Check back here Friday morning to be sure. We hope to see you SOON!
