Saturday, December 16. Day 13 on the Moose.
There is now nearly a foot of new snow this week. A few of our climbing routes (including “green plate”) were packed about 20 feet wide and now have another 3-4″ of freshies from last night.
As for temperatures, it is about 30 degrees warmer than yesterday at this time, with single digits above zero at all elevations. That’s still rather cool, and we recommend good layers and headgear, especially while it’s still snowing.
For instantaneous temps, check the buttons below.
We recommend the upper parking lot for season pass holders, who may ski down at 9:45 and go straight to the bus, which starts at 10. Last bus is at 2:45, unless it’s cloudy and getting dark (our call) and leaves the base at 2:30.
Today is not recommended for beginners and small children who are not familiar with powder skiing. We will start regrooming the mountain tonight after skiing.
Lower gate opens at 9, lodge at 9:15, half day for $5 off is at 12:15.
More good news: by next weekend the days will be getting LONGER again.
