Moose Mountain Ski Resort is interior Alaska’s largest alpine ski and snowboard area.  With 750 acres, over a mile wide and a mile long, and 1300 vertical feet, “the Moose” has everything from a short beginner tow at the base lodge to long gentle cruisers and steep, narrow black diamond runs that can challenge the best skiers and boarders.

Moose Mountain has many south facing runs, allowing for sunny skiing above the inversion every day of the season.  The average inversion is 20-30 degrees warmer than the flats of the Tanana Valley, and the views are impressive.  The prevailing cold weather wind in winter is from the northeast, and our southwest facing runs are fully sheltered with tree cover to the top of the mountain.

Moose Mountain is anticipating a greatly reduced capacity this season, with only skinning and climbing pass available at present, November 2020.  It remains to be seen whether we will resume the full operations, and it appears unlikely in the presence of a raging pandemic.

For the present, the lodge is closed, there are no rentals or rope tow, and masks are required at all times throughout the base area and parking and at the mountain top unloading area.  We appreciate your understanding and we know we will get through this.

UPDATE JAN 13, 2021  We are now allowing only season pass holders to drive to the top with trusted family and friends.  Single day guests of season pass holders can purchase tickets to ride with pass holders who self shuttle to the top.  These are $15 online or $20 cash at the base lodge.  Passholders must be present when guest tickets are picked up at the lodge.  One Day Tickets may also be purchased for skinning and hiking only. These day tickets do not include the self-shuttle option. Day tickets are also $15 online or $20 cash at the base lodge.
